I have been copying DVDs with shrink and decryptor for a long time with very good success. However when I first started it took a long time to get the process down to where I was making more good ones than coasters. For the last couple years I've had nearly a 90% seccess rate.
Just last week I had a computer crash and had to format and reload everything. Now I am back to having a 0% success rate for copying DVDs.
I am using Windows XP Pro and I've loaded all updates so it is at service pack 3 level. All my apps have been reloaded, including DVDShrink and DVDDecryptor. The only hardware difference is that I was using a Plextor DVD writer before and it was replaced with an LG DVD writer.
I'm not as knowledegable as I would like to be regarding codecs and wonder if something is missing in that area but I'm really at a loss for what to do next. If anyone out there has any ideas that might help I would be greatly in your debt for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Both DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter are terribly out of date and no longer updated.. Both programs are still useful and usable AFTER you rip the DVD to your computer hard drive with a ripper that is updated to deal with the newest copy protection methods.....like DVDFabDecrypter (yes there is a free portion of that program).

Rather than use DVD Decryptor to burn, switch to ImgBurn instead. It is not only the best burner out there, it is written and supported by Lightning UK!. Lightning UK! was also the author of DVD Decryptor.
I also recommend using the ImgBurn version of DVDShrink. It will streamline your current workflow.

drjtech, thanks for the suggestion. I like the looks of ImgBurn, very much like Decryptor, I can see that it is from the same author. I'll try it and see if that solves my problem. I assume the process to be the same as before except replacing the burn with ImgBurn instead of decryptor. That becomes
1 - AnyDVD for decryption. (Runs in background so no action required)
2 - Shrink to make a single level ISO file on disk
3 - ImgBurn to write it back to disk -

Once you have both DVDShrink and ImgBurn installed, you can install the the files to make DVDShrink use ImgBurn its default burning program:
