  1. Hi Everyone...I'm new to this so thanks in advance for your patience with me! I've inherited some footage (m2ts) which I'm supposed to convert and edit into a 10-12 min marketing video. I don't know much about how it was shot, camera, etc. as I didn't shoot the footage but I was successful in using iSkysoft to convert to a variety of formats to test. I use FCE to edit and my client/friend would like a 16.9 video that will look good on a 42" tv but no matter how I export....the footage looks a bit grainy and pixelated. This is to end up on a DVD and I'm at a loss as to what to try next to make my footage crystal clear and time is running out...PLEASE HELP this newbie!

  2. So your source is clean but after encoding it's pixelated? The fix for that is to use more bitrate.

... or use a better MPEG-2 encoder. I'm not feeling confident with iSkySoft to be honest.

Are you on a PC or Mac?

If on a PC I would encode to MPEG-2 first with a great tool like HC Encoder or CCE, then edit with an MPEG dedicated editor/author tool for the resultant DvD such as with VideoReDo or Womble.

But alas, if you're on a Mac I'm not sure what other tools you can try since I don't speak much Mac.
