Hello there!
I am new to this forum and may have overlooked the answer to my question. I will describe my setup and then the problem.
I am using a Videonics MX-1 video switcher. My main Sony DV camera is fed to the switcher via svideo. My second video input comes from my svideo out on my second computer running graphic displays. I run the video out of the Videonics switcher to an amplified video and audio distribution hub. From there I run the video and audio to my older Polariod DVR device with a 80 gig hard drive, Haupauge video/audio capture card for streaming and a usb Pinnancle device for recording.
I would prefer to record on the DVR device but I have hit a problem once installing the Videonics switcher. The picture looks good coming out of the DVR with the exception of a waving action at the upper portion of the display. It is somewhat sporadic, but definitely there. When I bypass the DVR, running straight to the tv/monitor, the waving action goes away.
I do not notice the waving action on the video streaming using the Hauppauge card (if there, it is hardly noticeable). Using the Pinnacle device and version 12 of their program, the wave action IS present until I click the VCR setting in the recording program. After that it looks good.
I would prefer to record with the DVR device, write to a DVD and rip the video off. This has worked great until I added the Videonics switcher. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause the video image to wave or bend or jerk . . . . I'm not sure how to describe the effect. Essentially, it is watchable, but the upper waving action is a bit distracting.
Well, I'm not sure if I have described the problem accurately enough.
Thanks for your time.
John D.
