    what is ASPI and do I need it? Also are there any good books about copying such as VCD for dummies or something? It seems like I have seen such a book but can not find it now.

    ASPI is a communication protocol which allowed Windows to operate some devices that require it (some like CD/DVD based devices and SCSI mostly) as for a book regarding VCD copying, I have not ever seen one myself.
