  1. Hi. I've been really confused about something. I hope you guys would be able to help out with this. I have made copies of the DVDs that I own and have shrunk them, to fit into a regular DVD-R, not dual layer. I am going to use Ashampoo Burning Studio 10 to burn the created image files. My DVD burner is a Plextor PX-880SA. So, my main confusion is, what speed should I burn these image files using this burner, DVD-Rs, and Ashampoo? Thanks for any help with this.

First: I would use imgburn to burn images.

2nd: Use good media, as in Taiyo or Verbatim (good verbatim, not the crap media)

3rd: start with a burn speed of 12X (half the rated speed, see how the buffer fills up.

Also, update the firmware for the drive, it's a Plextor, and that matters.

Also, It's likely not a true Plextor, as they sourced them out awhiile back.

It was bad enough to make me stop buying them - last I heard, they were Lite-On drives.

You'd know the difference if you had your hands on one of the originals.
