    Hi

I am converting a DVD into WMV so that i can play them from the XBOX, i basically want the best quality possible.

The setting i have used are

After the conversion process my WMV has a resolution size of 720x576 which i thnk is PAL.

What is confusing me is that the DVD is PAL but when i wath the DVD either on my PC or TV the picture is resized to something greater than 720x576. For example i have a 1080i plasma TV and when i watch a DVD picture allmosts the fits in the entire screen.

So my question is do i need to change some setting within AutoMKV to make a bigger resolution ? And is there a calculation i can perform to work out what the optimum settings are or can I just select 1920x1080 ?

I presume the settings are in the 'manual crop and resize' section of the advanced settings tab.

    Thanks for any help....really appreciated.

    Cheers

You don't have to upresize when you convert, the xbox/tv will do that for you.

Or use a stream application like ps3 media server(yep, it works for the xbox) and stream the dvd vobs directly to your xbox 360.

    Thanks for the reply.

So are you saying what i have done is correct so far then ?

Would you also be able to confirm i have the correct Container/Codec & Profile ? I have current 2_Pass-VC1_Peak.xml - is this the best quality ?

    Thankyou
