    doesn anyone know of a good application that can merge multiple VOB files, split VOB files, and edit? more than 1 software would also be fine. thx

    thanks but i am not trying to convert VOB into MPEG. what i am trying to do is"merge multiple VOB files, split VOB files, and edit them.

  4. A VOB (video object) is just an MPEG2 multiplexed with navigation data and authored to DVD, . You're gonna have to author/remap again anyway if you want a playable DVD-Video. Vob2MPG is a handy way to join all the VOBs into an editable MPEG2.

  6. For editing and cutting MPEG2, you might try MPEG2Cut2 (free). Pretty basic, but it might be all you need. For authoring to DVD-Video (creating a structure playable on a standalone DVD player), you need an authoring program. DVDAuthorGUI and DVDStyler are a couple free ones.

    I don't do DVDs much any more, having moved on to Blu-Ray. Maybe you'll get some useful suggestions from some of the other members. Good luck.
