  1. I want to convert .wmv 56 MB file without loosing any quality to .avi.

Also is it possible to convert .wmv to .mpg, .vob, .mp4, .dat, .rec, .ts - Which is best from this to convert from .wmv without loosing any quality of 56 MB.

    Only video conversion needed.

AVI is a container. The quality and size are determined by the codec used - e.g. DV, Xvid, Divx etc. - and the way the codec is configured. Chances are that if you try to use, for example, Xvid, and target the same size as the source, you will lose quality. However if the original is very low quality, you may not notice.

There are many converters that will do this - just look under converters in the Tools section, and select wmv to avi.

You can also convert to the other formats you have listed, although most are not appropriate, and several will have to be substantially larger in file size than your source, and may also require resolution changes.

Given you have provided almost no details about the source, or what you really want as an output, it is difficult to give you specific answers

  3. Ok, I am not at all interested of which codec I want exactly.

There is text in the video created by combining 10 images in Windows Movie Maker but it gives output in .wmv So i want to convert in AVI.

Size Should 50 MB as output also. Text quality should not go down. No pixel resizing or cropping needed.

You can output to dv-avi in movie maker. That is the dv codec. But it will be large. From there you can convert to divx or whatever you want but it will be from a clean large source that will compress well.

You need to select "save to this computer" or whatever your particular version (I'm using the wmm that was packaged with windows vista 32bit). THen in the drop down there is a choice to use dv-avi (I'm in North America so it defaults to NTSC - if you are PAL it will default to that).

You should check again to be sure. When you are set to publish the movie you have to select "save to this computer" and choose the third option with the drop down window set to dv-avi.

I can't imagine they would have removed that setting. It might be buried somewhere. Are you using Windows 7? I don't have that - maybe someone here with win7 and wmm can verify the output option.
