Hello everyone, I have an old video, seems that it used to be stored on a VHS tape, then transferred to DVD.
Anyway, all I have now is a video file, and it looks like this:
The horizontal white stripes, what do you call it (sorry)? They look really annoying and I want to remove them.
I have:
- VirtualDub
- Sony Vegas Pro 8
- Neat Video plugin for Sony Vegas
The Neat Video plugin always crashes when I open it in Vegas.
Could you show me how to remove those white stripes please?
Thanks a lot!

I think aedipuss was referring to the MediaInfo program for information. The info from Vegas is minimal, but it does appear to be interlaced video.
Try viewing it with a player that properly displays interlaced video and see if the problem goes away. VLC with Bob deinterlacing turned on is one choice.
Interlaced video should display properly on a TV as it handles interlaced video correctly. PC displays are normally progressive displays and do not unless you use a interlace capable player. If your final output is to be DVD, you don't want to deinterlace.
If that doesn't fix the problem, try posting a short representative clip here. -
Thanks. I do want to put it to DVD after editing those white stripes.
Here's a sample clip:

Your sample is interlaced but that has little to do with the noise. I don't know why Vegas is crashing with Neat Video. Attached a quick example of what Neat Video can do in VirtualDub (Xvid AVI). You should be able to tweak it for better results.
