I'm sure people have had this problem before. And that it's been touched on before. But I have used google and searched here for a answer to no avail. I have a video which has a annoying partial flickering line not all the way across the screen, portions of the line come and go during playback, above the normal field of the video, in the black portion above the video field. There is also a black portion below the video field as well, but it's just solid black like you would expect. When I say video field what I mean is the part of the video that is not the black portions above and below where the video footage appears to play. Anyhoo, how do get rid of this distraction without hurting/affecting the video quality, I'm not at all worried about the audio quality as it's terrible and I will be replacing it. But the video quality cannot be compromised. Any suggestions are welcomed. I have other videos with this problem as well. I'd like to have a way to fix them so they play normally during playback. I suppose I should also mention this is a short music video in vob format, and I want it to remain a vob. Thanks!

I have uploaded a screen shot of the problem here:

  2. If you don't want to reencode and it's part of a DVD, you can make a subtitle to cover it up, a single sub that lasts the length of the video, is always on and whose colors, including the background color, are all black and opaque and whose background color is only the height and location of the black above the video. I show an example in this thread:

It's a stand alone vob file, which is a music video. It's not a DVD, or a movie. Thanks for showing me this.
