Sopranos strangeness

Has anybody (else) had difficulty ripping the first Sopranos disc?

If i rip using Smartripper in movie mode, I get vobs 1, 2, 3 and part of 8, which is only epsiode one of four on the disc. Then using dvd2avi and nero, I was able to create a vcd perfectly, but of course only for the first episode.

If I rip in files mode, checking vobs 1 through 8, I do rip all four episodes, but without sound!

I've used smartripper, dvd2avi and nero to rip several dvds into vcds, so I think my basic technique is sound...

any ideas?
