    Hi,

Can anyone recommend something which automatically translates every part of a website from German to English? Is there maybe some add on to firefox or a whole different browser maybe? Or maybe even some software?

    Thank you

You might try Babel Fish, though I believe that works on a page-by-page basis. I haven't tried any of the translation extensions for Firefox, so I couldn't tell you how (or how well) they work.

Google can usually translate at least a page at a time from a website. Copy the website name and do a Google search for it and it should offer to translate it. German should come through to English fairly well, but some words may get confused.

    A German news website: http://www.express.de/home/-/2126/2126/-/index.html

I input that into Google and click the translate option: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.express.de/&ei=j4h8TOTH...html%26hl%3Den

Go to Google, click on "Language tools" (or directly to
    http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

and paste the URL into the "Translate a web pag" box, choose the from and to languages.

Or you can use a "bookmarklet", a javascript shortcut. Eg
from http://www.7is7.com/software/bookmarklets/translate.html which has links for either Google or Babelfish.

Or look at Firefox add-ons for translation.

  6. If you are just looking to translate websites while you browse the web, you can install the Google Toolbar, it will offer to translate pages as you surf.

If you need software to translate a website you are working on, there is a software called Site Translator. It translates all content on a website while leaving the javascript and code alone.

    Hope this helps.
