    Hi there!

I'm sorry to bother you all, but I'm a newbie and if that's not enough I'm from Holland! I've got a DivX movie now and I want to make a SVCD to play on my standalone DVD player. I´ve read some topics about adding subtitles and also read and tried the FAQ on this site. But after conversing I see no subtitles. I´ve used Station Alfa for making a SAA extension. Then I used Frameserving in Virtual Dub. But now comes my problem. I get that really nice window and the numbers stay at 0 and don´t change. Is that a problem? Should it count or something? I also get an error when I´m opening that file in TMPGenc: Illegal Stream Format. Could someone help me how to add subtitles in a very clear way? Or could someone who speak Dutch explain this to me?

    Greetings,

    Mike

    Hai Mike,

I was struggling with the same problem (maybe because I'm dutchman too) but I've found the solution.

Before you can use the frameserver you'll have to start PROXYON.reg.
You can find this program in the AVIPROXY directory under Virtualdub.

After encode the film with subtitles you can turn it of with PROXYOFF.reg.

    For me it works fine.

Maybe it's the right answer but I can't check it because the're no files in the map AVIPROXY. How is that possible?

VirtualDub 1.4.8 came without the reg files. Use the reg files of a previous version or download the latest VD149 http://www.virtualdub.org

Thanx! It worked. But now I've got a new problem. I want to cut my movie. My movie: 1:27:20. When I enter the numbers start 0 and end 2700 size 800 in BBMPEG then I get the first half wich dures 45 minutes but the other half is not finished for about 12 minutes. How is that possible? And what should I do about it?

    Extra info:

    Original DivX movie: 716.326kb
    Original SVCD: 1.596.280kb
    After Demultiplex in TMPGenc
    Video: 1.428.573kb
    Audio: 143.275kb
    Output files BBMPEG
    1: 818.922kb
    2: 561.837kb

I think it has to be something with the sizes...
