  1. I really need advice on this. I have the Xtasy 5564, 64mb agp capture card. I am quite happy with the video quality in vcd, and other higher settings. Howevef, regardless of the settings, My audio is always behind the video on playback. This is when I play it on the pc or burn it to a cd. I have a P4 1.5ghz, 256ram. I had an onboard creative sound card CT-5880. I disable that and used a SoundBlaster Live sound card, PCI and still no change. My video rate is usually 1120 kb/sec according to the windvr software settings for vcd. I have tried higher and lower audio bit rates with no changes. Please help I don't know what else to do.

I have the same card, but on an AMD XP system. I have no problems. What O/S are you running? Also, have you updated the WinDVD program? I do have skipping issues only when using PowerDVD... WinDVD works best for me. I am also using Windows XP Pro and running the nVidia 23.11 drivers available at www.nvidia.com

  3. I am running 2000 professional with sp2. I have updated the windvr programming by downloading the demo and running it. They said on the windvr site that this would do the upgrade.

  4. I'm having the exact same problem with mine. I also have a SB Live 5.1, which is what I personally blame for the problem(had the thing for a year, and still haven't been able to get all my games to play sound right...)

Getting the newer version of WinDVR didn't help at all...

My call to tech support told me to get the latest nVidia drivers(currently 23.11), which I have, and the newest SB drivers (nowhere to be found on Creative Labs' website...) and the latest drivers for my motherboard. I'm gonna try and update my motherboard drivers tonight, but if that doesn't help, I'm taking this card back.

The number one thing I wanted from this card was to get the digital VCR to work, so I could record my shows while I'm at work, and keep them on VCD, but this card/software just isn't cutting it...

I almost got rid of this card too, due to the problems I had with the PVR (WinDVR) function. I wasn't able to select "Line In" as my record option, so I could not get sound! Luckily I had the Audigy EX breakout box that let me use "Aux In 2"...
I looked at the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR too, which is what I would have purchased if I could not resolve this issue....
It seems to me that companies (Like Creative, and InterVideo, and VisionTek) are releasing hardware without compatible software, and then blaming each other for the lack of compatibility and support. This really is akin to being criminal. They are legally taking our money for non working products. It makes me sick.
If you want something besides run-of-the-mill products, beware!
Good luck, I am at a loss as to what to suggest next. Clean O/S install?

  6. I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers, 23.11. I now have little if no synch problems. On VCD it seems just about perfect. Once in a while I get a squeal type of sound on playback. Maybe the record level is up a bit. I also had an issue with the player closing and giving me an error message during a certain part of the playback. I would like to edit that out but I can't think of a video editor to use with playback.
