i have a same movie from two different sources,
1) First source is a bluray rip (mkv container), as usuall the FPS(frame rate) is 24, the length of the file is 3:8:35, the audio is
in DTS format, but i dont want this audio because it is in different language.......
2) Second source is a normal DvDrip(xvid-avi),the FPS(frame rate) is 25 (i think its a pal), the length of this file is 3:1:23.
The audio of this source is in AC3 format with 5.1 surrounding........i want this audio because its my language, hence i
want this audio to be muxed with the first source(bluray-mkv file).
So,i extracted the audio(from the second source) after changing the frame rate of the original video to 24(from 25),although the length of the file did not changed, i did this by using virtualdubmod,
Then i observed that the extracted audio started 8 seconds late when compared to the first source (bluray mkv file)............ I even adujsted this using delaycut.......
At last when i muxed the audio using megui....................i found that the audio was in sync during starting of the movie.....but went out, after a duration of time, the audio is really out of synch at the end of the movie(it went in minutes)...........now what should i do to synch the audio........pls guide me with necessary steps....i am really newbie in conversion and synching process..... its really driving me crazy. am i doing some thing wrong??????![]()

If the video length didn't change, didn't that give you a clue that something went wrong? And by changing just the video length, did you also expect that the audio length was going to change? Well, it won't. Extract the audio and then stretch it. I use a combination of BeSweet and Soft Encode for such things. eac3to can do it also, but I haven't used it myself.
Or, better yet, keep the original audio and use subtitles to enjoy the movie in your own language. -
Thanks for the reply manono, yes u r right i thought by changing video the audio will also change, even after changing the frame rate the audio was in synch (original source), i thought than i would extract the audio and mux with the bluray source........as i told you, i am newbie in such things, its my mistake.
one more thing, after searching i found this post, http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=158366
here the person is saying that he uses audacity tempo change feature to change the length of the audio, if i am not wrong ,i think i can also use this feature,i am giving it a try,if it is success, i will post back.......
even though manono pls tell how to stretch the audio using combination of besweet and soft encode,as u have successfully done it before(i think). i am tired of experimenting myself with different tools.....Last edited by avengerevenge; 18th Dec 2010 at 11:42.

Yes, I've stretched audio hundreds of times. However, doing it with DD 5.1 audio is more difficult because you have to first create 6 Mono WAV files in BeSweet followed by the Soft Encode step. I think doing it in one step using eac3to and its GUI is probably easier. But, as I said, I haven't used that before, or even have it installed. Someone else will have to help or you'll have to figure it out yourself. It can't be hard.
Maybe you'll be successful using the Audacity method. -
Gday avengerevenge!
How did you go? Im having the same trouble tho i am using mkvvmerge or its other name is mmg. Have you tried this program? Did you fix the audio problem? I too have tried and tried and tried various things...and it is tiring. If only we had a step-by-step thingy to help us hey!
Im still trying different methods to overcome the audio out-of-sync thing at the end of the movie! Will post here a step-by-step method i wish someone has already done. I wonder why it hasnt been done so far? Ohh well
:_)
EDIT : I hope this link helps
