  1. How can I fix a buggy VCD?
The Mpeg file has errors at the beginning and at the end. My standalone player plays the file well, but some pixel rubbish at the critical points. The file itself seems to be faulty, because the explorer refuses to copy it (file size 724MB!!). Isobuster copies it, but the file is not recognized as Mpeg anymore(Virtualdub, TMPGenc, iFilmedit, MPEGcorrector....).
An extraction with IsoBuster from an image file generated by CloneCD has the same effect. But that seems to be the best way, but I have no ideas how to set the parameters.

Maybe someone has another hot tip

    Who can help?

Convert the dat to mpg with VCDgear and then check the mpeg properties. Bitrate VBR/CBR, VBV buffer size, res, everything. It sounds like a VBV buffer underflow. Are you sure it is a VCD and not a XVCD?

  3. Oh, excuse me, I forgot to mention VCDGear also fails in recognizing this file as an MPG.

That VCD is really one, but you can't expect high quality for only one Honkong dollar

I tried several programs, and after all I succeeded in making an image file with CloneCD and a good reading writer. I extracted but filtered only M2F2 Mpeg frames with the marvellous IsoBuster. So finally I was able to correct the file with an Mpeg corrector, and reburnt it.

    Thanks for listening
