  1. while opening avi video file in virtual dub im facing ths problem...

    if anybody having t solution to overcome ths problem just say the step by step detailed procedure to solve this issue....

    You need a vfw xvid codec like koepis xvid, https://www.videohelp.com/tools/XviD_Codec

    Whatever codec is used in those MKV files. MKV, like AVI, is a container -- just a "box" that holds video, audio, and other stuff, that may or may not be compressed with any of dozens of codecs. Just to open an MKV file you need a the DirectShow source plugin for VirtualDub and a system installed Directshow MKV reader/splitter like Haali. Then you need the appropriate codecs.
