  1. i've downloaded movie on mkv format. if i want to convert to avi (i want to play on dvd player), what good program to do that??

    Not really. DivX and Xvid are technically similar codecs (both MPEG-4), though Xvid-encoded videos may occasionally have a few additional things DVD players may not like, like GMC with more than one warp-point.

    See my reply to "Most Reliable Video Converter". I've just converted about 40 MKV's to AVI with great success. If you want further info on my settings, let me know & I'll post them here.
