i have a sony 25g BD-RE which i use to test my backups on before finaly burning to a BD-R, i have been using image burn and put a movie onto this BD-RE and it will no longer play in my PS3 yet the information still shows up on the disc on my PC.
i have even reformatted the disc as a UDF 2.50. i have also used nero, its like the disc isnt finalising even though the programs have these ticked to do so.

any help on this would be great.

    Is that correct?

    " I 08:54:40 Write Speed: 2.4x"

Also, did you (fully) format the disc before the burn?

Hi Chef, yes i would say that is correct as i did a copy and past.
i have done a full format a few times as well as a few quick formats.

or what i should say is i used image burn to do a full erase, and ive tried a format through windows and neither worked yet it was fine the couple of time before.

Do you have another one of this media, same type, same specs, to try with?
Maybe your burner just has a problem with this specific media now because of the usage so far?!

You've got spare areas enabled there (can tell by the size of the disc).

Maybe the PS3 wants a disc formatted without them?

  8. How old is the PS3? How old is the BD-re? What make/brand is the BD-re? Just coz you paid ($$big bucks$$) for the disk dont expect it to last for ever ... I have thrown away quite a few CD/rw and DVD/rw when they went bad, it happens.
Lens cleaner, Different disc (BD/RE) should all be tried.
Has this procedure worked previously? have you installed anything new (hrd/soft) on your PC? drivers? were you eating Nachos or performing other bodily functions? (Clean hands lead to a Clean Mind leads to a Clean BUrn)

thanks guys ill turn off spare area's although that must be on as default.
my PS3 is 2years old second release was 40gig model but i put a 500gig in, the disc is 2 months old and worked fine for the first 4-5 burns played in the PS3 fine, i allways clean my disc's before use, ive tried a DVD re-writeable and that works fine so i guess it must be the disc
i was using image burn until it didnt work so i updated to latest release and that didnt work either.
so short of buying another BD-RE at $20 i could try ringing sony or try it in another machine.
