Make a 1:1 backup with dvdfabdecrypter and burn on a dual layer dvd-r. No quality loss.

If you already have the dvd-video files(VIDEO_TS folder with vob, ifo, bup or iso/img file) files then burn it with imgburn.

If you have some other files then tell us what files you have....

The dvds have the Video_TS folder with vob etc as you mentioned. What I want to know is if I make it into a folder on my external HD what file do I need to make it in so that when it reads the External HD via USB it will read the Folder. I already have them as dvd I am not looking to reburn them I am trying to go the non disk way. Thanks

  4. Use ImageBurn. Add the VIDEO_TS folder. It will see it's a DVD folder and set up the rest of the parameters properly when you burn.

Oh, sorry. Most DVD players I've seen won't treat a full VIDEO_TS folder on a hard drive the way they do a DVD. Some will play a sequentially numbered sequence of VOB files seamlessly. You can try ripping the main movie as a single VOB or MPG file (use VOB2MPG for DVDs you've already ripped). But you'll probably run into the problem that the player only supports FAT format which has a 4GB file size limitation. Beyond that your best bet is probably to create high quality Divx/Xvid AVI files of each movie.

  8. Try AutoGK or Xvid4PSP. If you want more control: DgIndex + AviSynth + VirtualDub.

In your opinion what is the best program to simply convert my dvds which are VIDEO_TS folders VOB files and put into 1 file to play on my tv through HD w/o losing quality? AutoGK looks to be ideal, I am unsure why I would need more control. Thanks

  10. AutoGK is good if you want an highly automated process that doesn't require you to learn all the intricacies of converting VOB sets into Divx/Xvid AVI files. It may not give the best possible results though. If you want to get the best possible results you'll want to use DgIndex, AviSynth, and VirtualDub and tweak everything manually. But that will require you learn quite a lot about doing this type of conversion.

Well I do want best possible quality. Would there be a set manual settings for all movies or would I need to change the settings individually? Is there a way to get the settings needed manually? Thanks
