  1. I have a problem with conversion of avi to VCD. When I try to convert som avi's with TMPGENC the sound gets lost. It's not on all, but a lot of them. The sound is ok when I play the avi with WMP, but when converting, nada. Right now I extract the sound with Virtualdub, and use the wav, I wonder if there is a simpler way? Might I be missing a codec?

    TIA

    Hi

Yes there is a fault in TMPGEnc when you try to convert some of the "new" DivX coded AVI's.

Click your right hand mouse button on the AVI and select properties, this shows the type of codec used, you will see its a new type and this problem will happen on all those movies using that codec.

Saving the audio in Vdub is the quickest way...

Sometimes!!!, you can start the conversion in TMPGEnc a little further into the movie (Source range) Start 50 frames, Sometimes it works !!

  3. Thanx a bunch! I thought I was doing something utterly wrong, so now I'm calmer.

  4. Actually I found a cure for my lost sound accidently (were trying the Subtitler filter): Frameserving from Virtualdub!

Just wanted to share this if you have the same problem, much easier than extracting the .wav!

Vdub 1.49 is much better, just save the AVI having tested for freeze frames (Junk) frames. But it also fixes any other simple problems.
