  1. I've been downloading some DVD torrents and here are the steps I have been doing to create to a DVD.

I use VUSE to find the files I need.

I use DVDFlick to convert the AVI file to DVD format.

I then use NERO 6 to burn the DVD. My issue is when Nero wants to burn the disc it ejects my DVD +R discs ( including DL discs) and request I use a "DVD" format DVD. I've been changing parameters in DVD Flick hoping that it will create a file that will allow Nero to burn as a R+ but no luck so far. I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious so thanks in advance for any help.

Are you saying that Nero is complaining that it's not DVD compatible? Or that it's rejecting your blank DVDs?

  3. Nero will eject the DVD +R disc and request a DVD disc. I can get it to work by loading a DVD RW disc but those discs are real expensive.

Can you burn data to a dvd? The problem is sounding like the drive itself is the issue. At this point I'd run an optical lense cleaner through it and see if it resolves it.

  5. Yes it burns fine. The problem is the encoding thye software places on the file when it's converted from AVI to DVD format. I'm sure somewhere there is a setting that says create the DVD file as a DVD-5 or DVD-9(DL I think). I'll keep looking for software that does this. Nero even though the setting is DVD-5 will ask for a disc that is DVD format. Don't know why - I figured it has to do how the file is originally created.

    Thanks for your help.

Never burn DVD video with Nero. Only use Imgburn. There no reason to use anything else.

Also, if you are downloading DVDs, why do you need DVD Flick in the process ?

I did find a tool that uses IMGBURN to write the disc - worked flawlwessly.

I, too, like that BOC avatar. Great LP. Am still especially fond of Wings Wetted Down after all these years.
