    BD Rebuilder, full backup, playing on a PS3.

    If there is a 00000.BDJO file in the BDJO folder, I can't backup successfuly to BD5/9. BD-25 will backup just fine, though.

    Is there a way around this? It will happily write the disc, but the disc won't play in the PS3. I've used several versions of AVCHD patcher (for non-BDJO file discs, I use 1.06, and if it doesn't modify the index file, I'll run 1.04, and this has worked out well). If you do movie-only backup, it will work fine with a BD5/9, but I prefer full disc backups.

    I've done some Google searching, and this got me no where but figuring out my initial problem with the BDJO files.

    JO = Java Object.

    The disc has a complex BD-J java menu. Movie-only works, as you've found, but you may not be able to get full disc on BD 5/9 to play on your PS-3. Does the disc have any PIP tracks? Perhaps a disc released by Universal, by any chance? There has also been in the past some suspicion as to whether BDRB updates java menus correctly in the rebuild phase for *some* discs. The fact that a BD25 works would however tend to discount those possibilities.

    Does the BD 5/9 backup play in another AVCHD-capable standalone player?

    1) You could try AVCHDCoder to eliminate BDRB as a cause.
    2) What is the firmware of your PS-3? I hesitate to recommend updating it, as I don't have one and don't know much about them.
    3) You could try ripping again with BD-Live disabled. Then run it through BDRB again.

    Good luck.

    - I have ripped with BD Live enabled and disabled, makes no difference
    - PS3 has the most current firmware
    - I don't know anyone with a stand-alone Blu-ray player; everyone I know runs a PS3, which IMO is the way to go (I do a lot of video streaming with it as well, plus a little bit of gaming).
    - I'll have to look into AVCHDCoder. Newegg selling Ridata 15 cake pack BD-R's that end up averaging out to $2.13/disc, so it's not the end of the world to burn to BD-25, but when I am paid .08/disc for a DVD -R, and not a lot for DVD +R DL, there is a money factor involved. Anything where quality is a real concern, I go BD-R anyway.
