  1. I have found a useful tool to remove subtitles & it's so easy to use. The Prog is:
MKVToolnix. Its a very small programme.

Open the prog and select 'ADD' which is located to the right of the window. Don't try the usual Ie File open etc..... (on the top left). Once you have located your file it will give you a list of all the files within the film file. Video-Audio-Subtitles etc. Just uncheck the subtitle box and hit the Start Mixing tab situated at the bott of the window. The only problem I found was the option to overwrite the original file didnt seem to work so before editing the film I created another folder (orig folder-Film 1--new folder Film 2) for example. Then selecting the output filename & destination (situated at the lower half of the window) I was able to send the new file to the 'Film 2' folder. It Works!

It works for MKV files that have softsubs. It won't help for other formats, or subs that have been encoded into the video image. AVIMuxGUI can help with softsubs in AVI containers (and some others).

It is nice that you found a solution to your problem. Just bear in mind that it isn't a general solution.
