am i being incredibly thick or what?
i have a mac and want to convert avi files with subtitles to a dvd disc. there are loads of options and i've played around with most of the options for over a week and have only managed to get it right once. i've tried to do again using the same settings and it doesn't work anymore!
does anyone have a list of which boxes i have to activate in order to get a file or files to burn (with the subtiles) to a dvd so i can play it on my (pal) dvd player.

To get permanent subititles (which can't be turned off), use the DVD mpeg2enc preset and select Decode with mplayer in the Options tab.
To get soft subtitles, use any DVD preset and use any other decoder. The subtitles will be turned off by default, so turn them on using the remote of your DVD player.
