Hi folks,
Friend of mine converted one of his DVDs ... I guess XviD ISO MPEG4 with the Resolution of 624X352 (1.773) at 25fps ... and I can not watch it on my Philips 5982-37.
Q1: Do I have to change the Resolution to something different? If so, to what?
Q2: How would I do it gthe easiest way? AviDemux or VirtualDub?
I know how to use "Fast Decompress" ... but where do I choose different resolution?
Q3: I scanned thru the Philips 5982 PDF Guide and all it tells me is the Max Resolution ... so where do I find what combination of "Resolutions" the dvd player can handle? So, I won't waste you guys time!
THANKS,
G!

It looks like it should play. Yes, I would try a quick remux with VirtualDub. Also, try Mpeg4Modifier and the Unpack option (if it's "packed").

	Hi Jagabo & folks,

Just in a case someone else comes across an AVI like this one ...

I tried the Fast Recompress using XviD in VirtualDub and then used the Mpeg4Modifier ... and the darn thing did NOT work.

So, I tried the XviD4PSP (latest version) ... btw I had never used it before and I chose "Xvid HQ Turbo" for the Vidoe and "MP3 CBR 128K" which was the Default for he Audio and I let it do it's conversion. Since the Original AVI's were 2 CDs ... I did both of them and then Combined them using VDub direct stream copy for both Audio & Video ... file size about 1.18GB. Tried it on my Philips 5982 ... played perfectly with the Exception of about half way in the movie I got jittery playback that usually happens with Packed Bitstream ... this happened for about 1 minute or so then is OK.

Today I combined the the two converted portions with AviDemux and will play it back on Philips and post back my result ... may AviDemux does a better job since it asked me to do something with Timing ... so.

Q1: Does anyone know where I can find a User Guide for XviD4PSP that it will tell me the Differences for all the Different Video Conversion Presets? I had to guess at what I want.

Q2: Can I use Xvid4PSP to combine the Converted AVI's at the same time!?!? I am not sure if the Option exists?

 Thanks,

 G!
