  1. I filmed using a kodak HD "flip cam" and ended up with a .mov
I would like to delete sections and add a watermark image to the bottom. I was able to accomplish this, but the end result on youtube looked terrible. I'm confused about the conversion and compression that used. Here's how I did it....

dragged the .mov int MediaCoder to make it an AVI to use VirtualDubMod.
    Set it to mpeg4 600 kbs, 640 x 480. audio mp3 128kbs. container AI

In VDub I deleted the sections. added the logo filter and saved with the following settings(which is my prob, im sure):
    compression ... ffdshow Xvid, used the resize filter(320 x 200) and 553kbs.

This was my first attempt & i was following some tutorials, so if its completely messed up please don't blast me.
    thanks

Why did you down resize to 640x480 and then 320x200? Try upload video with as high quality/resolution(keep it in HD all the way) to youtube as possible. And use higher bitrates, like at least 1000kbps or higher or use constant quality encoding mode.

And you can also try use the mov plugin for virtualdub, http://www.tateu.net/software/dl.php?f=qtvd_bin and extract the files and put in the virtualdub\plugins32 folder and you might be able to open the mov directly in virtualdub.

I will def try to install that plug in cause that would be very helpful.

Do you recommend the using the H.264 for an output?
