    did you try plextor.com? but if it's a cd or dvd burner there are no drivers other than what microsoft installs.

    and you don't need bold extra large font or all caps around here.

    another place to look would be cdfreaks.com

    Firmware updates are only rarely necessary. If you use good quality media, which in the USA means Taiyo Yuden (you'll have to order it online) or Verbatim, you shouldn't need them at all. Firmware updates are usually only necessary when burning to lower quality media, which means just about anything you can find in a store that's not Verbatim.
