Hi,
I will be receiving a Panasonic AG-1980P deck soon and had a couple of questions. I also have a AVT-8710 TBC coming. Understanding that the AG-1980P comes with frame TBC, is the AVT-8710 even necessary. To use the AVT-8710, does the built in TBC on the AG-1980P need to be turned off? Does the TBC on the VCR or the standalone unit eleminate macrovision? TIA,

Wait stop!
Has any consumer SVHS recorder ever had a frame based TBC? I only know of integral line TBC/DNR dating back to the early 90's latest. Educate me.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Now that I 'educated you', could someone educate me on my topic, thanks. -
The AG-1908P has a full-field TBC, not full-frame.

The manual has this for the AG-1980 TBC ...
The vertical jumping is an artifact of a field based TBC.

So shut it off and use an external full frame TBC.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
