are there any programs to convert mkv to another file format to use for nero like mpeg-2 perhaps?
i use tsMUXERgui but the problem is a lot of times the video is out of sync or choppy or something else bad. the worst is the volume is turned down a half at least 50% from the original audio which is much louder.
Is there a way to fix this? Any better recommendations for converting/encoding mkv to another file?

FAVC, DVDFlick, AVS2DVD, or, if you'd rather have Divx/Xvid, then AVIDemux or VirtualdubMod.

You can "retire" Nero and use AVStoDVD with ImgBurn to create a DVD. Works very well.

what if I want to make menus though? because when I convert them I use them to make a dvd menu as well which is the reason I use nero so I can make customizable and elaborate menus. Or semi-decent dvd menus.
