  1. Hi,

I have just successfully finished backing up my first Bluray movie after waiting about 2 or 3 days for my computer to finally finish encoding (had a couple of issue's and my PC is just not fast enough).

I used BD Rebuilder and created a BD5, the disc plays perfectly on my Panasonic BD35 player but it report's it as a 1080i output and not 1080p.
Is this normal for it to not keep the 1080p resolution or have I done something wrong with the setting's.

I am about to start my second one but wanted to know the answer to this before I start.

    Thanks

I think it depends from the original BD.

If BD is 1080p BD Rebuilder will produce a 1080p, if it is 1080i final result will be 1080i.

    That is!!!

But the original Bluray is a 1080p movie as stated on the back of the case and when I play the original movie my Pioneer TV report's that it is recieving a 1080p signal.

When I play the BD5 backup it report's 1080i, my Bluray player report's it as an AVCHD at 1080i so is it that AVCHD can't be played at 1080p or as I asked before is it that I have a setting in BD Rebuilder set incorrectly ?

  4. Well I've just been and had a look at the setting's I am using and I don't see any setting's that can obviously cause this to happen.
The only setting I have changed is the one regarding strict settings for AVCHD for BD5/9 so maybe this will affect it ?

I have started my second backup now so maybe in a couple of day's I will be able to tell if it has had any effect

I'm desperately gonna have to get a faster processor/motherboard combo else this Bluray backing up is gonna cost me more in electric than it would be to buy 2 copies in the first place

My backups take only 8 to 12 hours.

OK, This is going to sound really sarcastic, and I'm sorry if it does, but Yes it is set to 1080p @24hz otherwise it wouldn't be reporting the output form an original Bluray as 1080p !
I know my AV equipment inside out so I know it's not a hardware issue, I just think that there is a problem with the setting's in BD Rebuilder or maybe a problem with the latest Beta version ?

So, as I said before, sorry for the comment, I'm not trying to be rude and thanks for trying to help.
Would still like any further comment's from member's if you have and idea's.

Check the created m2ts file with MediaInfo / Text Mode. Does it say Scan Type=Progressive? If so, then you may have a player problem, not a BD Rebuilder problem.

It may be possible that a AVCHD BD5/9 disc is not allowed to output 1080p but same files burned on a BD-R/RE it would. Just a thought.

Also, if DB Rebuilder/Setting/Encoder Settings is set to 'Better or Good", the results are very exceptable and faster encoding times.
