I need to use the 1920/1080 60hz digital output from a PC into a second PC acting as a switcher for overlays and live broadcast. I got a Black Magic Intensity Shuttle for the task.
After some experimentation I realized the 1080 60p HDMI output from the PC was not a standard video format and therefore not recognized by the Intensity. (I also looked at the format specs)
Changing the display to 720 60p worked, and a custom resolution of 1080 60i also worked. (The Intensity recognized it as 1080 59.94i) However, 720p is too small for my needs and 1080i looks awful and blurry on a PC flat panel. (I need to split/share the primary PC display, I am using a HQ active HDMI splitter) I really need to keep my PC display at 1080 60p.
Is there some sort of scan converter to change 1080 60p to an "acceptable" format to the Intensity?
Should I be using a different capture device than the Intensity?
Would an HD television be a better choice in this case for a PC monitor, and display the 1080i signal clearly/correctly?
Any and all feedback welcome!
Thanks,
Cris
