  1. Having problems converting .MOV video files from panasonic TZ1 digital camera. Media Coder tries to convert them but fails every time, i downloaded the latest version and selected all the codecs.Since it comes with media player, and media player plays the files ok, it must have the right codec! i also tried to make a movie with them using Nero 8(full version). It appears to make the movie, but on playback all I get is a series of stills of the first frame of each clip! Ulead Video Studio 9 ( bundled version with DVD RW) has a batch conversion utility which works fine to convert MOV, but thats on my old computer!I dont really want to put more software on my PC, just get the existing stuff to do this job. Both Nero 8 and media coder handle MPEG 2,4,AVI and WMV file ok.

I reckon these Panasonic mov files are mjpegs. MP4CAM2AVI ought to do the job.

    Cheers!

Thanks, thats a small download, should do the trick. However, I note it includes a nero MP4 codec, and nero theoretically should be ale to edit and convert it. So should media coder. Any idea why not?

Quicktime is the best way to get Quicktime MOV files dealt with

    Download from
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
and don't give them an email address
And I take care not to install anything else when I update, too, watch out for ticky boxes for other unwanted options like iTunes.

I had the same problem with Panasonic Zs3 .MOV files. MP4cam2AVI worked fine for me.

    Thanks
