Hi, I just registered with ffmpegX because I wanted to shrink some DVD'S. Maybe I don't understand well. I want to take a movie that is on a double layer DVD and use ffmpegx to convert it so I could put the movie on a 4GB single layer DVD. I don't want to convert a single VOB file to 4GB. I want to convert the full VIDEO_TS folder that contains lots of VOB files. It's useless to convert VOB's separately. I would use mpeg streamclip to do so. Once I got my new 4GB VIDEO_TS folder, I could burn it to a single layer DVD with Liquid CD.

    Is it possible?

If not I will ask for a refund. Thank you.

https://forum.videohelp.com/topic369336.html has some apps that do the process of requantization the easy way.

ffmpegX's requantization tool is still quite basic, in that it doesn't work on VIDEO_TS folders, but on a single VOB file. This doesn't have to be a big problem, when you consider that it isn't very hard to join all the VOB files of a DVD title into a single big VOB file, before processing.
Note that ffmpegX's dvd4 tool only does one video track and one or two audio tracks. I don't think subs will be preserved.
