I've captured a good quality avi using videowave 4. When I view the avi at full screen or even through my tv..it's very clear and good quality. I then converted this avi into vcd and burned it on a cdr using video wave 4, which has vcd as an output template, and when I viewed the vcd file on the monitor and tv...it looked very blocky..nothing like my original capture. I then tried to convert the avi using TMPGEncBeta12e+ and then I burned the mpeg onto the cdr using Roxio ezcd creator 5.0 Platinum...the resulting vcd wasn't any better than the results I got using videowave 4. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Here's my set up
Athlon 750mhz
256k RAM
ATI all-in-wonder 32
Videowave 4
easy cd creator 5.0 platinum
TMPGEncBeta12e+

You might try using a different version of TMPGEnc - 12h, and 12a have been reported to giveout better results than other versions. You could of course download the Panasonic MPEG Encoder and do a 1 min test to see if the quality is better for you.

Thanks, I tried it with Panasonic encoder and I got much better results...slightly blocky...And I mean slightly, maybe I can adjust the setting a bit.
