    Hi, Could anyone tell me how 2 remove 'dead' files (files with 0byte & won't delete) in windows 7 pls? thx

    Try "killbox" it is free and works most of the time.

    Another method is to cut and paste the file into a folder, then delete the folder and the file will disappear with it.

    Well that depends where the "0" byte files exist ... just because it's "0" doesn't mean it isn't linked to something else that needs to locate the file ... you don't just remove files of "0" bytes without caution and thought.

    The Unlocker I mentioned tells you which program has locked a particular file.

    Usually it's a program that exited abruptly without cleaning up.
    Rebooting usually clears such locks too.
