Load the video in a utility like GSpot or MediaInfo and post the information here (use a screenshot of the window if using GSpot, or Tree View if using MediaInfo. You can blank out the file and path/folder names, if you want.)

The PS3 can be a little picky about Xvid-encoded AVIs, but generally, you shouldn't have a problem playing an AVI with a DivX/Xvid video stream and an MP3 audio stream.

Hmm... I'm not sure I can see anything about the audio stream, offhand, that the PS3 might not like. Someone else might see something I'm missing (it looks like an average MP3 stream, to me... ). As far as I can tell, a normal DivX/Xvid DVD player shouldn't have a problem with it.

One thing you can try is to demux the audio stream (no conversions), and see if the PS3 has any problems playing the resulting MP3. If it doesn't, maybe there's something else about the video (I still don't know why the PS3 is somewhat picky about Xvid AVIs as opposed to DivX... they should generally be about the same).

Yeah, the PS3 does support MP3 audio... I agree with Ai about demux... maybe even try a straight re-mux with DivX Mux GUI, which will re-package it all into a .divx container. You can get it free here:

The only thing I can think of is that maybe it thinks that track is a second/alternate audio track or not associated properly with the video? Hopefully, DivX Mux GUI can straighten it out.

Thanks again for the help guys...

I demuxed the Mp3 stream and the PS3 still wouldn't play it. Not sure what the issue would be with it though... Reencoded it to AAC and muxed it together and video and audio were fine.
