As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

I have successfully used a scheduler called Wincron to start my S-Video captures. I leave the TV app on, and use Wincron to send a CTRL-R to turn it on, and again to turn it off at the desired time. I also discovered that my cable box can be set to change channels for specific shows, so I can capture 2 or more events without being there.
