i have a few movies that i want to encode and burn ,i'm using nero for the burning process and tmpgenc to encode but both say that these movies are not supported , but i can play them on my pc throught wmplayer without any problems. does anyone know what can be the reason why there like that and how can i fix it so i can encode and burn.

hey dave,
it sounds like uv got divx avi files. i've never converted from divx to mpeg1 but there is a conversion guide available in the howto section here at vcdhelp. -
Try downloading (And installing) KSCODEC's from the tools section, it worked for me, and solved problems with TMPGenc converting from avi to MPEG

Dear MarkJL,
With this name => KSCODEC's there's nothing on Tools Section.
Can you help me?
Tks very much.

They're talking of the Krystal Codec pack. ALso, make sure you install DivX v 412.
Follow the DivX to VCD guide by Baldrick to extract the audio to a wav file. I'd also suggest Frameserving the Video via Vdub as the video source into TMPG, that way you can apply all your filters in Vdub prior to encoding.
Directly going into TMPG will not give good results as it hates mp3 audio, as well as can be gooffy reading DivX video (that's why you feed it through Vdub..)~~~Spidey~~~
