After I convert a file, I watch it and everything is good (as good as it can make it since the video is always laggy, like with anime you can see it skipping along) until all of the sudden you will hear a VERY FREAKING LOUD BEEPING SOUND. It's really making me mad and no one wants that. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Can it be fixed? Otherwise this software is useless no matter how well it converts video. I don't want my videos being ruined by this stupid BEEPing sound. Seriously it's bad and the beep can blow your speakers if you have it turned up loud enough.

I just used XenonMKV and it (AS FAR AS I CAN TELL) does NOT make a BEEPing sound after conversion. BUT... It doesn't let me pic which audio file I want. The MKV I'm converting has 2 eng and 1 jap. I want to pic the second Eng but there isn't any option for it. So.. Now we have two converters that do something needed that the other doesn't. Somebody's gonna have to fix one of them. If you can help me I'd appreciate it

Ok I obviously found the wrong forum. Maybe someone could point me to a website that actually has users?

    a) you are asked (in the forum rules) to wait at least 24 hours before bumping your own thread

    b) the more detail your provide, the better. mediainfo tree outputs of the source is always a good idead

    c) perhaps no-one has seen your particular problem before, or only a small number have and just haven't been by in the last 20 hours

    d) being an arse about it won't win you friends or get you answers

There's 22 letters left in the alphabet so go for it. Well I don't really need any friends. But, I do need some answers and I am sorry I broke the rules of the forum. Also I'm sure that everyone that has used GOTSent has had that problem. It's really bad and it renders outputted videos useless. I have even tried software that costs a lot of money to see if I could use it, but no. So far, GOTSent is the only software I can find that will allow me to select which audio track (in this case it was between, eng, eng and jap.) I want to pick the second eng because it has better sound. And that is my major malfunction right now. I just want to convert a video and be able to select which audio track for it. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

Use one of the many muxing tools to create a new mp4 that has only the audio track that you want, and try again. mp4muxer can demux your mp4 to elementary streams, then mux a new one with just the streams you want in your final video.

If your source is MKV (and you still haven't put up any details about the source) use mkvtoolnix and mkvextractGui/mkvmerge to create a new mkv file with just the audio track that you want, and go from there.

Personally, I would use mkvextract to get the video and audio stream that I wanted, and then use mp4muxer to create the mp4 file, and skip Gotsent altogether.

Well see, now we're talkin' I'm going to try what you said and let you know how it went. The source is .mkv with three audio channels. The converted video must have 2.0 (stereo) only.

It still makes that beeping sound. No matter what I do. I wish I could show you what I meant. I'm afraid it is un-fixable.

Anime presents it's own unique problems, especially in container like MKV that support variable framerates.

Post a mediainfo tree view of the file

Ok,.. whew. I ended up figuring it out. I really do not know why it beeps every once and a while, now when I play the .mkv file in Windows Media Player 11, (right when I click on it and it opens) the first sound the video makes is BEEP. But, I just ended up using mkvextract, and take the files it gives me and re-mux them in the Yamb program. It seems to be working pretty well. Thanks For your help on this one guns1inger.

I find the mkv container to be a pretty unstable thing. The main tools used for creating mkvs (namely mkvmerge) seems to change very frequently, which too me says there are still a lot of bugs int he system. Whenever I find an mkv that gives me grief - converter won't open it, audio goes out sync etc - I generally find that demuxing and rebuilding with a just a single video and audio track, and no extraneous garbage, fixes the problem.

Well, now I figured out an easier way to do it. I didn't know that Yamb would automatically use mkvextract on it's own if I gave Yamb the directory to mkv extract in the Yamb settings. Then you just add the file to Yamb and it will show you all of the Video/Audio tracks within the .mkv file you added. Simply check or un-check the ones you want or don't want and click next and it will create an .mp4 or .3gp (haven't tested Yamb's .3gp capabilities yet). Also, and this is the same with any converter or muxers or things similar, when you are trying to convert your file as fast as you possibly can, do not change the directories for the files. Have the output file saved to the same file the original video was in and it will speed up the process by far. I'm not sure how much renaming the file would slow it down if at all. Also if you are trying to output your files to a USB Drive, make sure you have your USB Drive plugged in to a high speed USB port. I know this is obvious information but some people aren't aware of it. So yeah, instead of using mkvextractgui to extract the audio and video you want, you can just use Yamb, and Yamb will use mkvextract on it's own and allow you to do what you want. If you try to set the directory for mkvextract in Yamb to mkvextractgui it will not work. You need to set the directory for the mkvextract file not the mkvextractgui file. Sorry if this is a little bit hard to understand, I have a hard time putting things into words. Hope this helps someone!

Also ( and I'm not sure where to post this if it even needs to be posted) I learned another trick and since it is about .MKV files I'll post it here. It also has a little bit about downloading .MKV from megauplaod. I was messing around with download manager software when I came across InternetDownloadManager at cnet's download.com . At first It would not download the file I wanted with IDM so I did some research and people were talking about how you need a Megaupload Premium account and edit your "Site Logins" on IDM. I didn't even try to do that because I don't have a premium account. But what did end up doing while I was just messing around was come across this.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmOyn6gAvAI I couldn't get the resolution right but I tried. Fullscreen/HD it.

Now you should be able to download MKV files or any other file faster and easier because it actually does speed up your downloads. I was surprised by it, I downloaded an .MP4 once and it started downloading the one file in like 6 different sections/parts and it think it was doing that that sped up the Downloading process. Pretty neat software I'm going to check it out some more later. I also noticed in that same screen it said in the DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD FILES FROM THIS ADDRESS or something like that (the bottom white text box in the video) In that box was listed a really long directory that i don't quite remember and I noticed that within the name (it was in the system32 folder) it said HP Updates in it. You should never block downloads from HP Updates!!!!! Have fun!
