  1. In the ongoing TCPTG ripping, which now has become a personal mission, I used SmartRipper and got 3 vob files. I then used DVD2AVI, opened the first vob (which opens the other two), then went to File->Save Project.
    I got a d2v file (TCPTG.d2v) and three AC3 files:
    TCPTG AC3 T01 3_1ch 32Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 (128, 284Kb)
    TCPTG AC3 T02 3_1ch 32Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 (299, 329Kb)
    TCPTG AC3 T03 3_1ch 32Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3 (128, 284Kb)

I double-clicked on each AC3 and it played in my Creative Labs PlayCenter Media (some app that came with my SoundBlaster Audigy Gamer card). What's weird is the the first two AC3 files are nearly identical, although I think the second sounds louder and maybe better (after all, it IS bigger). The third AC3 file is the DVD commentary.

Okay, so I figured out as much that I now use the second AC3 and join it somehow with one of the video files (right?). BTW, from previous attempts at TCPTG rips, I still have video files from the Madrona process:
Two Can Play That Game.session-00.0.avi (624,744Kb)
Two Can Play That Game.session-00.video-00.0.avi (609,056Kb)
Two Can Play That Game.session-00.video-01.0.avi (354,914Kb)
Two Can Play That Game.session-00.video-02.0.avi (638,218Kb)
Two Can Play That Game.session-00.video-03.0.avi (936,147Kb)

So should I join the AC3 file with one of the above AVI files or the three vob files I got.... and how?

What are you trying to do, exactly? If you just want a VOB file or MPEG2 stream with the video and 1 of the AC3 tracks, just tell SmartRipper to rip the movie, main angle (if there are multiples), plus only the second of the three AC3 files.

SmartRipper is a smokin' program! Use its full capabilities!

  3. Hey there, I gave you a link about doing audio with Fair Use

    http://www.doom9.org/fu.htm

Check near the bottem for steps 2 and 3 which have the info you need.

The "Two Can Play That Game.session-00.0.avi (624,744Kb)" you have from Madrona/Fair Use is the video file you should work with. Add your audio to that. You have to convert the AC3 file first as per the info on the above link, and then join it to your avi file with NanDub.
