    Hello there!

    I gave VOB2MPG a try last night as it's almost exactly what I'm looking for.

    The only bad part was that the file that was produced did not seem to have any of the benifits of anamorphic conversion. The frame was still 720 by 480.

    So I'm wondering if an anamorphic feature is part of the PRO version, or did I miss something, or is that not a feature yet?

  2. all ntsc dvd mpeg-2 is 720x480. there is no other size. 16x9 is produced by the decoder reading a 16/9 flag.

    Ok, I guess I must be missunderstanding anamorphic output then. I'll have to spend a bit more time reading up...

    This is correct. What are you playing the mpeg with?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Plex, Quicktime, and VLC.

    I know VOBs are 720 by 480, but perhaps I am misunderstanding a 2.35 anamorphic display system.

    Can you use the attached tool to create a 10MB sample of the mpeg in question and then put it on rapidshare or somewhere or email me it? I will then take a look at this end.

    Ok, but it will be a day or two before I fire up the Windows box again.

    Looks like it's my error. I just checked a file in Plex, and I didn't notice the PAR notation before, so it looks like it's all good.

    I was expecting to see a playback resolution of 854 by 480, but I missed the PAR, so that's what ended up confusing me.

    Sorry about that!
