The two big games this fall that I want are the GHOSTBUSTERS game and the Star Wars Unleashed game. However since the WII is not a high def machine the graphics are going to suffer. I just read a brief review on yahoo for the Star Wars game. They say it won't be a full fledged sword game for the lightsaber so the wiimote might be relatively useless as a fun factor in the game. That said I'd rather have beautiful graphics via the ps3 or 360 version.
The same decision is needed for the Ghostbusters game. I would absolutely sacrifice graphics for gameplay fun if the wiimote is used properly in this game. This is just beggin for point and shoot interface. I even have the wii zapper that I haven't really used much. This would be excellent for it. My only concern is for it to be done right.
Again my main concerns are gameplay. If the execution on the WII is done right I'll sacrifice high def visuals for outright perfect control. However if the play isn't what it should be I'll have to decide between the ps3 and 360 versions.
I know I'll have to rent the different versions to be sure. Any thoughts on these two much anticipated games?
Anyone else going to have a tough time to choose a system for them? Heck this might even be worth buying the same game twice if I truly fall in love with them!![]()

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

wait until they come out and rent them first to give 'me a whirl.
if you can grow some patience (I know it's hard!), then after you've tried them out you could wait a while until you find them used.
With games for the new systems costing $60 to $80 I'm buying most of mine used. It's totally worth the wait."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

I know renting will be key for these two blockbusters in waiting.
I couldn't wait for Ninja Gaiden 2. I actually bought it new the day after I rented it. Then my xbox blew up! Man that sucked. But I have it back now and I am in the middle of Chapter 2
Well with the price of games I remember buying SMB 3 new for 50.00 for the NES. I think the Street Fighter games for the SNES were like 60.00 or 70.00 when they first came out. Game prices really haven't changed that much over the last 20 years or so. Its just the hardware thats skyrocketed.Donatello - The Shredder? yeh, I remember $80 for Donkey Kong Country on the SNES.
but that was different -- most SNES games weren't that expensive, the later games actually had extra prcessors &/or RAM in the cartridges!
$50 was the price for PS2 games, period..."To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." - Steven Wright

i remember in 1983 my dad bought me the game Popeye for the ColecoVision. The 29.99 pricetag gave him extreme sticker shock.

Wow it took nearly a YEAR for Ghostbusters to come out???
I finally bought it yesterday. I bought the 360 version afterall. It sounds like from the xplay review that the wii version is a 'modified" version of the ps3 and 360 version.
I will probably rent it one day but not buy it.
I am having fun with it. It helps so much to have the original actors do the voicing. It really feels like the movie.
I'm already at the sublevel for the library level chasing after the ghost librarian. I am fighting the two furnace ghosts right now. Though I'm taking a break for the evening. I'll probably be at it again tomorrow night.
Definitely worth the wait!

Bump again!
Well I actually finished the Ghostbusters game! I played it on Experienced. Next level up is professional (the Highest I think its professional).
Anyway - it is a fun game. I like the ending. It feels like the movie. I was suprised it really was Annie Potts doing the voice again for Jennine. I didn't think it was her, I thought it was somebody immitating her. I did watch the credits all the way through.
This is actually the first video game I've beaten all the way through in a long time. The only other one recently was Guitar Hero World Tour on solo in hard mode (guitar lead not bass). I did finish Guitar Hero 2 on medium on the playstation 2 before I traded that in. (fyi GHWT is on the 360. I don't have any instruments for my ps3. So my rockband and guitarhero are 360 only)
I have 29 of the 50 acheivements in the game. I am going to try to play some more xbox live campaigns to get more of them. I may also replay it in expert/professional level.
It was funny I'm 99% sure the voice of the mayor is the guy who did the voice of the mayor in GROUNDHOG DAY. And it was a Murray - I remember that it was supposed to be Bill Murray's half brother or something in the Groundhog Day movie........

I played through and completed the Wii version of Ghostbusters. It felt cartoony (kinda like controlling bobbled heads), but the Wii is the only next gen system I currently own.
I liked the game's story line and the actual actors voice work made it even more enjoyable. I have mixed feelings on the Wii controls of the game, it was kinda cool controlling the blasters with the remote, but sometimes the cursor (appropriate name...?) would hang in spots on the TV and I would have to shake the remote vigorously to get it unstuck. Had to replay several fights including boss fights b/c of the stuck issue. Never had this problem with some other Wii games. It was so frustrating at times I would have quit, if not for the fact I like the Ghostbusters so much.
Overall I enjoyed the game, but would recommend on a different console than the Wii. -
unless a game REALLY draws me in , i get bored. ghostbusters for me was such a game. however i bought a wii motion plus and love wii sports resort
