    Hello

I wonder if it is possible to convert a AC3 file that is PAL to a AC3 file that is NTSC?
I have the *.ac3 file and the video that i have is a ntsc and just wanted to add a second audio to it and when the audio is PAL the sync is out of order.

    Thanks for the help

    Hey,

Yes, it is possible, if you extract the AC3 to WAVs, then do a slowdown with an audio editor, and re-encode to a new AC3. But it seems you've taken your AC3 file and your video file from different sources, right? In this case, they probably won't be in sync even after conversion. Don't bother doing the conversion unless you're prepared to do further work on your audio track.

  3. If they are from the same source (e.g. PAL vs. NTSC version of a studio movie) , and the same theatrical cut (not a different version of the movie or "director's cut" etc...) you can try eac3to. There is a GUI for it, but it's actually harder to use than the command line

    eac3to input.ac3 output.ac3 -slowdown

  4. Or convert to WAV using one of the BeSweet PAL to NTSC presets, and then reencode to AC3 using Aften or whatever you have.

Best to use eac3to if the ac3 is 5.1,you can set pal-ntsc slowdown and keep the 5.1.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
