Please help me how to make DVD out of AVI using Nero 7.
I have to recode avi using xilisoft first into vob, then recode & burn using nero 7
and this is sometimes results good or bad.
Yesterday was a bad DVD, video plays well only audio is plays ahead of the scene itself.

Anyone knows the solution, please ?
    Thanks in advanced.

Generally speaking, the best way to use these programs is to first make compliant mpeg2's from your avi's. Then, drop them into the program in such a way so they don't re-encode yet again. See the glossary on the left menu for a definition of a compliant mpeg.

Thank you for your reply, Mr.Zoobie.
Is there any software i could use so that my avi compliant to Nero 7's mpeg2 ?
Seems like my Nero 7 doesn't recognize those avi files.
When played by Show Time, the picture shows its colors in a rather blurry and a bit shatttered manner.

As far as I'm aware, any version of Nero past version 6 will automatically re-encode anything you give to it.

I'm not sure why you're encoding to .vob using Xilisoft software (their products aren't viewed favorably on these forums, for the most part, and they're also known for spamming). Nero should be able to take the AVI as input and re-encode it to a video DVD for you. Converting it to a .vob before you feed it to Nero just means you're converting twice, taking a quality hit each time.

There are better alternatives than Nero, however, for converting your AVIs and other videos to a Video-DVD. For freeware, there's AVS2DVD (which I'd recommend), and DVD Flick. (There's also FAVC, but that hasn't been updated in a while, and may have issues with 64-bit versions of Windows. I don't know if it'll work with Win7.) For commercial/shareware software, there's ConvertX2DVD.

    O geez, i'm sorry that i didn't know xilisoft is a spammer.
Nice advice, bro. I have no idea why Nero won't recode it.
    This is frustrating.
Well, thank you very much for the tips, bro.
    I'll try it. Many thanks

Be careful, you do not have to click on 'Open Project' button, but on 'Add title' button (or drag and drop) to load your AVI.
