Hello,
I am trying to capture audio/video from my TV to my laptop. I am using the ADS DVD Xpress DX2 product which connects to my laptops USB 2.0 port. My laptop has 256 Video RAM whichis shard w/ my system RAM (4 GIG). I've heard that causes problems, but want to post here to you guys opinions. Also, I'm using a 16 ft. S-Vid cable and 16 foot USB cable.
Everytime I capture video it works like a charm until right about the 7 minutes mark. The video will continue to capture but the audio completely drops. I can still hear it in the capture software (CapWiz), but when I play it back it goes silent.
Is this a common issue with a known fix? I'd be happy to provide more detailed information on my laptop, codecs, etc. if needed. First, I wanted to see if anyone who has experience in this area could just say "Oh ya, thats because.......". I'm willing to spend an extra couple hundred dollars on a higher capture device, but don't want to waste my time if its due my laptop or some other issue that can't be corected by simply purchasing a high quality capture device.
Thanks in advance for your time.

sounds like it's filling some cache up...but if you heard it causes problems, try a configuration that won't

well, for long sustained caps, you need to cap to a separate hard drive
perhaps this would help in the config, too -

I had the same problem and i solve it uninstaling Ulead Video Studio, some DLL is used for CapWis and when you install Video Studio replace that file and then always capture only 6min, i found out this after uninstall windows and reinstall all again then the capwis works find then when i install Ulead Video Studio fails in sound capturing.
I hope this solve your issue.
