When you viewing a folder's contents, is there anyway to change the default View Settings? I don't want to see Tiles but rather have the Details View Settings every time I look in a folder. There has to be a way to change this?

open a folder/set it the way you want, click-tools/folder options/view/apply to all folders.

In XP, change the folder view to Details, then click on Tools -> Folder Options -> View (Tab) -> Apply to Folders. This will make all folders open in the Detail view.
In Vista, change the folder view to Details, then click on Organize -> Folders and Search Options -> View (Tab) -> Apply to Folders.Read my blog here.
