just got me a haupagge hd pvr,for backing up hd stuff from my virgin media v+box.
problem is i am seeing no video in the capture module.
i am connected with component cables and i think the problem is that the vbox does not output component and hdmi simultaneously.
can anyone tell me how to change the output to the component sockets, virgin can't and haupagge can't either!

Just guessing, but did you try removing the HDMI cable, then rebooting both devices with just the component cable plugged in?
And are you sure there is no capture? Preview windows don't always show what is being captured. I would check the HDD for a file if you haven't yet.
But others here may be more familiar with both devices. -
thanks for quick reply.
i have found out how to change to component output now,so i will try that. -
hello chaps,
i'm still having fun and games backing up from my v+box!
i have the box switched now to component out,but i can't get to first base as the damn arcsoft media extreme is so bugged up.
when i open the capture module i get the 'the device is not available or is being used by another application',and the odd time it does not appear i click capture and it crashes going into eggtimer frenzy.
i am using the updated haupagge drivers, and i have mailed arcsoft.
anyone else been here and bounced back?
why did haupagge not release this unit plug and play,or at least provide an update link for patches - is it so hard?
