OK...I'm sooooo frustrated with CyberLink PowerCinema. All it does is freeze my computer when I'm recording. I'm using an AsusTek TV Tuner.

Anyone have any simple but effective alternatives...this is really getting my down.

Im using PowerCinema 6 with the ATI HDTV Wonder PCI card and it works great.

I just got the card ... Jan 12 2009 ... and I can schedule stuff to record and it makes ts files and I use Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 to convert them to avi videos.

When I record a one hour TV show ... the size of the TS files are usually 5 to 6 gigs. After converting to an avi file ... I use virtualdub to shrink the video down to 300 megs.

I am very happy with the results I am getting.

The specs on my PC ... different PC.

This PC is in the garage [brrr ... its cold out here] ... the one Im using ... the ATI HDTV Wonder card is installed in a ABIT AN-M2 mobo with a X2 4400 AM2 cpu with 2 Gigs of system ram. Video card is a Generic Nvidia 8500GT with a 1GB of video ram.
