How to change video resolution exactly in Virtual Dub Mod 16:9 to 4:3

Hello to all

I have an Xvid video that had 16:9 Aspect Ratio with 704x398 Resolution. I want convert it 4:3 Aspect Ratio with 720x480 (NTSC) format. I used Virtual Dub Mod for change resolution but when using resize filter it getting 720x580 with letter box. How can I convert it only 720x480 without getting letterbox or crop. please help me.

Just change to 720x480 in the resize(ignore what it says about ratio or keep aspect ratio or whatever). Save it as avi. And then change the aspect ratio in the avi xvid to 4:3 using MPEG4 Modifier.

But it will look stretched if you just change it to 4:3 without cropping or letterboxing.
